Mindy McCutchan CT

Indianapolis , Counselor in Training

Mindy is a second-year Master's student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Indiana University, Bloomington. She is a life-long learner and believes there is always room for growth and new beginnings -- a belief she embodies as a returning adult student making a life/career change. She approaches counseling with an Existential-Humanistic philosophy which speaks to focusing on the here & now and takes a holistic view of each client and their presenting concerns. She strives to bring her authentic self, flaws & all, into each session to create a safe space for honest sharing and reflection.

Where appropriate, Mindy is interested in incorporating literature, philosophy and spirituality (in whatever form) into sessions and using Jungian ideas, like dream work and archetypes, for deeper explorations. Those on a path of self-discovery may feel especially at-home working with her. However, she will meet any client where they are on their journey. She works with individual adults of all ages and is especially interested in working with those who are navigating a life transition -- be it personal or professional.

She has been a client and fully appreciates how intimidating it can be to take that first step, but she is on this new path in part because of how much she benefited from working with a counselor. She hopes to pay that forward and help others who might be feeling a little stuck, distressed or uncertain.

She is a student under licensed supervision.
