Hello,
Devonna aims to nurture healing and growth through collaboration and gentle curiosity holistically. The therapeutic relationship begins by exploring each client's inner world and unique history. She utilizes a carefully tailored blend of evidence-based techniques and modalities for couples and individuals to effectively support their journey.
Her warm, engaged approach aids in facilitating greater awareness; deepening the understanding of the self that will allow for both change and growth. By examining somatic responses, patterns of behavior, emotions, and thoughts, she will help clients identify and remedy various obstacles. Devonna believes in cultivating self-trust and intuition, guiding clients in discovering optimal internal and external resources to create more connection and meaning in their lives.
As a mother, she is passionate about empowering women and supporting maternal mental health. Helping parents at any stage enrich the connection with their children, with themselves, and (when applicable) with each other is especially meaningful.
With Devonna's diverse background, she is uniquely positioned to support the complexities and vulnerabilities freelancers, artists and creative professionals face. Addressing anxiety, depression, self-image, self-worth, relational boundaries, and objectification are safely supported and encouraged.
She has previously counseled children, adults, couples, and families.
Devonna is a lifelong lover of horses and animals. She believes that animals possess a healing nature. Devonna works in the H2H program which provides Equine Psychotherapy for clients by interacting with horses. Devonna holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University where diversity and social justice were important key elements of the curriculum.
